The Spanish coach has transformed Thai Son Bac with his footballing philosophy, leading the club to four major trophies in three seasons.
Victor Acosta arrived in Vietnam three years ago with extensive international experience and a clear vision of the game. After coaching in Romania, Kuwait, Croatia, Japan and Spain, the Spanish coach took on a new challenge with Thai Son Bac.
Since then, Acosta has successfully introduced his footballing philosophy and built a team with a clear identity, based on organisation, intensity, possession and collective work. The results have followed.
Thai Son Bac has won the Vietnamese Cup three consecutive times, establishing itself as one of the country’s leading futsal teams. But the biggest milestone came in 2026, when Acosta guided the team to the Vietnamese League title, completing a remarkable domestic double. Four major trophies in three years underline the consistency of the project and the impact of the Spanish coach.
For Acosta, however, success is about more than trophies. His work has focused on creating a recognisable style of play and developing a competitive mentality within the squad. Moving to a new country and adapting to a different futsal culture has also been an important part of his journey.
Acosta has combined his international experience with a deep understanding of the Vietnamese game, adapting his ideas without losing the principles that define his football.
Three years after his arrival, the results are clear: three consecutive Cups and a League title. Victor Acosta has not only brought his experience to Vietnam. He has left his mark on Thai Son Bac and established himself as one of the key foreign coaches in Vietnamese futsal.
